Hamlet Spindle Roughing Gouges
The 1¾" Spindle Gouge is a big tool ideally proportioned for big spindle work such as 4” (100mm) square and bigger. The High Speed Steel blade will hold a fine edge, this is a well-balanced tool with a 16” beech handle. The Roughing Gouge is the first tool to use when spindle turning. It is used to conveniently take of the corners of the stock leaving it round ready for further work. (Not for bowl turning)
