To achieve the correct finished dimensions when working with rough sawn beech timber, please consider the following guidance:

If you require a finished planed width of 100mm, we recommend selecting a rough sawn board that is at least 10mm wider to allow for accurate trimming and planing.

For thickness, be aware that wider boards may exhibit more natural movement such as twist or cupping. To compensate, add 10–15mm to your required finished thickness to ensure a consistent and stable result.
