Tormek MB-102 Multi Base

The MB-102 multi-holder is specific to the Tormek diamond-grinding wheels. It is fully adjustable for optimal settings for each tool and jig. It also converts the horizontal mounts to vertical, for easier access when knive edge trailing and for guided honing using knife jigs.

Sharpening on the side of the Tormek diamond grinding wheel produces a completely flat bevel on chisels, plane irons etc. You can mount the MB-102 either vertically or horizontally, when sharpening on the side which gives greater convenience to the user and a better result for the tool.

The vertical mounts for the universal support, allows front positioning, this provides better sharpening access for knife edge trailing (when the tool edge is in the same direction as the grinding wheel rotation) and for guided honing, when using knife jigs.

The MB-102 has an adjustment line for setting the correct sharpening position based on the angle required for each particular tool or jig. It is compatible with the following Tormek Jigs: Knife Jigs SVM-45, SVM-140 and SVM-00, Axe Jig SVA-170, Scissor Jig SVX-150, Short Tool Jig SVS-38, Gouge Jig SVD-186, Multi Jig SVS-50, Square Edge Jig SE-77 and Tool Rest SVD-110.

Please note that sharpening on the side of the grinding wheel with the MB-102 Multi Base is recommended only with diamond grinding wheels. We don't recommend it for sharpening with grindstones as they wear down and require truing, which isn't possible on the side.
