Liogier have produced hand stitched rasps and rifflers for four generations. Founded in 1920 Liogier have been producing Rasps and Rifflers for wood and stone ever since.
Their manufacturing process begins with carefully selected steels cast in France to Liogier’s specification, followed by forging, rolling, cutting, grinding and polishing.
The teeth are hand-made one by one, all carried out in the long established traditional way. Liogier rasps have a tapered profile and are stitched to the tip and edges. Mr Frédéric Lefebvre, French Ministry of Industry and Trades, decorated the Liogier workshop in recognition of its expertise and of the excellence of its production, giving them the honorary status of Ambassador of the French Excellence.
