Birdseye Maple is not a timber species but it is a term used for figure that is found occasionally in Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum). It gets its name because the figure resembles small bird’s eyes. The spindle blanks listed have a light inclusion of bird’s eye in some parts of the blanks.
Maple is a creamy white colour. Although it is a hard wood it works well and will take a fine finish. < /p>
All of the bird's eye maple blanks listed are kiln-dried and have a sawn finish.
