Friendly, informative and set in a rural location with views of Cumbrian fells. In a relaxed and supportive environment you will be nurtured through at least one, more often than not, two completed projects during the two days.
In addition anyone wishing to learn a specific skill e.g. knife carving, lettering etc, or their own chosen subject can easily be accommodated in a flexible student-focused programme. All areas of the craft will be covered from inspiration, planning, preparation, cutting out, carving, finishing through to presentation of the completed work. Information on suitable woods, tools, accessories, plans and books will all be covered.
All tools and materials are provided, though anyone wishing to bring their own is free to do so and if necessary they can be sharpened free of charge in the sharpening demonstration! All students are encouraged to share ideas and questions to create a worthwhile learning experience.
