Wood Carving CoursesAn ideal course for beginners to embark on the craft or for more experienced carvers wanting to extend their knowledge.

In a relaxed and supportive environment you will be nurtured through at least one, more often than not, two completed projects during the two days. In addition anyone wishing to learn a specific skill e.g. knife carving, lettering etc, or their own chosen subject can easily be accommodated in a flexible and student focussed programme. All areas of the craft will be covered from inspiration, planning, preparation, cutting out, carving, finishing through to presentation of the completed work. Information on suitable woods, tools, accessories, plans and books will all be covered. All tools and materials are provided, though anyone wishing to bring their own is free to do so and if necessary they can be sharpened free of charge in the sharpening demonstration!

All students are encouraged to share ideas and questions to create a worthwhile learning experience.

Peter has a wide experience of all aspects of the craft at varied locations throughout the UK, Europe and North America. He has delivered city and guilds woodcarving courses at Leeds college of art and design, and less formal sessions at numerous shows and retailers.

A prolific carver best known for human and animal character studies, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and an infectious enthusiasm to his teaching.

He has inspired hundreds of people to experience the sheer enjoyment of woodcarving.
