Munro Tools

Rolly Munro is a name that many wood turners will have heard of already. He is a world renowned, respected turner/sculptor. Originating from New Zealand, Rolly's work has been shown at the most prestigious galleries worldwide.

The Munro Hollowing Tool is the result of over ten years of experimentation with designs of this type of tool. It has the ability to remove material very quickly and precisely, and an excellent finish can be attained straight from the tool. The cutter is high speed steel, so the tip needs less sharpening, therefore it lasts longer.

As the tip is circular and is rotated a few degrees to a sharper area, it is only when the entire circle has been dulled that the tool needs sharpening. The hollowing tip is easy to sharpen by rotating on the supplied sharpening holder against a grindstone whereas other types of tool can be difficult to hone accurately.
